DOLPHIN CONNECTION TEXAS
INGLESIDE ON THE BAY, TEXAS

| 06/13/10 | Its a human watch! | | The tormenting winds of June are blowing again. Leaving us with some very disappointed dolphin watchers. We haven't canceled as many this year, as last, but we are gaining on it. The trips we've been able to run have been awesome with a few exception. Sting rays are very active mating. We saw a group of at least 100 swimming just below the surface with wing tips exposed. What a sight! we have 13 baby dolphins so far this year. They are the seas brightest charm. So many ask about the oil in the Gulf and if it has shown up on our beaches. The answer is no, and it probably won't unless it is still leaking in Sept., when the currents shift in the Gulf, or a hurricane pushes it this way. What a mess. We were out in the blue about a week ago. The dolphin "Kramer" came by and took a liking to one of our great customers. The two had a lot of eye contact which nearly brought him to tears as he described it to me. It's a human watch, he declared. Sometimes you just don't know who is watching who. Kramer is an exceptional dolphin. She appeared in our first video dancing with Sonja next to our boat. One day she came by, Sonja, was messing with her nose. Kramer opened her mouth, a small fish swam out and around Sonja's hand. Sonja pushed the fish a few times and the fish started to swim away. Kramer got it again and gave it back to her. Kramer has also thrown large fish into our boat. She's probably in her 50's. We've been honored to know her for over twenty of them. |
