DOLPHIN CONNECTION TEXAS

INGLESIDE ON THE BAY, TEXAS

01/07/11Dolphins are like cats...
WOW ! Another year has past us by. What a ride. Sonja and I want to thank you, our wonderful dolphin loving customers, for all your support and patronage through out the year. You all are great. We also want to welcome back all our winter Texans. Hope the weather is good and we see you soon. Dec. was a very different month. We spent Christmas Eve along highway 59 just south of Victoria, Texas. We ran a fireworks stand for the worlds greatest fireworks company, "Alamo Fireworks". Now that was a different experience and an explosive way to end a great year. Dolphins were a bit snooty, but not bad. Most trips went well, some not so much. We've become so spoiled over the last thirty or so years with the dolphins. By that I mean, it seems we never get enough personal interaction. In the beginning, we would get so excited when we saw a fin. Dolphins have a way of leaving you wanting more and it is easy to forget how privileged we are that they take time out of their busy lives just to mess with us. Even if it's for a minute. A little girl asked me what animal is the most like a dolphin? Tough question. My answer surprised her, "Dolphins are like the cat." I said. I explained. We have two cats, Madison and Yoda. All cat people will relate to this. I told her how sometimes the cat chooses your lap. Starts purring away. Kneading your belly. You really think it loves you. Then the next time you go to pet them, they'll have none of it. It's like, "If you want a pet get a dog!" Dolphins are like that. One trip they can't get enough of you. Then, the very next trip. Your back to the get a dog thing. So, if a trip doesn't give you the dolphin fix you needed. Just come on back. We love them like family, but they still can hurt that one feeling I have left. Sonja and I wish you a happy prosperous new year. With miles and miles of dolphin smiles.
