DOLPHIN CONNECTION TEXAS
INGLESIDE ON THE BAY, TEXAS

| 01/12/10 | Many changes in 2010 | | Happy new year to all our returning winter Texans. Many have become such good friends through the years. As with the dolphins, after nearly 30 years, many are like family. Due to ongoing personal challenges, we have decided to try to find a buyer for "Dolphin Connection". So for us, there will be many changes in 2010. If you love dolphins and are interested in this opportunity please contact us. If you always wanted to do one of our tours, but for one reason or another have not, 2010 may be your last chance. We have several interested buyers at this time. However, we must be very selective to whom we sell. So, we hope your year will be as interesting as ours.
Our first sign said, "Gone are the circus tricks, artificial environment and captivity. In their place are trust, amazement and an appreciation of the dolphin in its own environment". Each trip has always started as a mystery. It is hard to pick one over the other. Many, however, stand out having a defining moment. One day we saw something black boobing up and down in the distance. Thinking it was a black garbage bag, we went to retrieve it. As we got closer, we saw it wasn't trash at all, but rather, a big sea turtle (3' across). As we got closer yet, we saw four dolphins messing with it. The dolphins were keeping the turtle from diving and kept it at the surface three feet from our boat. We had the perfect view. The turtle looked very nervous. You could tell it didn't want to be there. It kept stroking its flippers. Hoping to glide away, dive and lose the thugs that were tormenting it, the dolphins eventually lost interest in it and let it go unharmed. This has happened more than once and with various other sea creatures including various fish, stingrays, jellyfish. We feel blessed and highly favored to have been a part of nature rather then a part from it. Trust, amazement and appreciation have always been a part of every trip we've taken into the blue. |
